Avis E. Lawson

Avis E. Lawson, 97, of Greencastle, passed away Tuesday morning, June 21, 2016 in her residence.

Born July 6, 1918 in Duffield, Va., she was the daughter of Floyd Lawson and Florence (Peters) Lawson.

She married Amos Lawson and he preceded her.

Avis worked for 23 years at RCA as a tester, retiring in 1977.

She was a member of the Plainfield OES and Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children; son Otis Alton Lawson and wife Bonnie, Greencastle; two daughters, Kate Collier, Fillmore, and Amy Ballard and husband Maurice, Greencastle; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband and son-in-law Bobbie Collier preceded her.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Otis Alton Lawson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fillmore Cemetery.
