A Putnam County resident was a featured speaker during the Franklin College commencement ceremony on May 21 .

Not only did CODY DONOVAN CLAY WARREN graduate cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, Warren was named a Top Ten Senior and selected as the senior speaker by his peers.

Cody is the son of Ronald Warren and Tricia Warren, both of Reelsville.

Warren was joined as a commencement speaker by UCLA men's basketball coach and Indiana University legend Steve Alford. The baccalaureate speaker was author, professor and Episcopal priest Barbara Brown Taylor.

Both Alford and Taylor received honoroary degrees.

Of the 195 graduates, six graduated from Putnam County high schools.

KAITLIN MICHELLE ARNOLD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Arnold of Quincy, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business (management and marketing).

RYAN MATTHEW BAKER, son of Matthew Baker and Bernice Helman, both of Terre Haute, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

NATHAN CLARK BRYAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Bryan of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies secondary education. He graduated cum laude.

LEEANN FAITH DAVIS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Davis of Fillmore, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology (social work).

KATHARINE LYNN HEDGE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hedge of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of arts degree in elementary education.


Greencastle High School graduate KAYLA R. CASH was recently named to the dean's list for the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

This honor is reserved for students who earn a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5.

Kayla is the daughter of Tim and Sheila Cash and a 2013 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Born and raised in Greencastle, she is entering her senior year at IU. She is majoring in human resources management with a minor in environmental management.
