Virginia M. Mullis McDonald

Virginia M. Mullis McDonald, 91, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016.

Born Dec. 12, 1924 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Howard and Nellie (Sheets) Denny.

Virginia was a graduate of Greencastle High School and attended Indiana Business College.

Virginia was a farmer and had worked at FHA for 16 years in Rockville, she had also worked nine years at State Highway Department and at the State Park.

She was a member of the Bainbridge Christian Church and had been very active in the Democratic Party, having served as a Democratic campaign committeeman.

She is survived by her son, Howard (Cathy) Mullis; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mullis; daughter, Lynn Underwood; infant granddaughter, Julie Dawn; a sister, Ann Gruenholz; and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
