Quincy man dies in ATV accident early Sunday in Morgan County

MARTINSVILLE -- A 30-year-old Cloverdale area man was fatally injured in an ATV accident early Sunday morning, authorities reported.

The fatality occurred near Martinsville in Morgan County

Brian Tackett, who reportedly was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was among a group of six people riding on ATVs in the 7000 block of Stockwell Road, Conservation Officers reported.

Tackett's ATV reportedly left the roadway for an unknown reason, striking a fence and then hitting a utility pole just after midnight, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
