Bainbridge Saddle Club celebrates a half century at current location

Tuesday, July 5, 2016

On Sunday, June 19 honorary members of the Bainbridge Saddle Club came together to celebrate and share memories of being at the club's current location for 50 years.

The club was first organized in 1946 and began hosting horse shows just east of Bainbridge. In 1966 the club moved to another location, this time just west of Brick Chapel -- a move that brought a bright future for the members as they began building an arena and clubhouse.

Since the move, the club has more than doubled in size, resulting in about 150 members today.

The club has also became more involved in the community, from hosting benefit shows to donating trophies to the Putnam County Horse and Pony Club.

Shows take place on the third Sunday of each month from May to October.
