Sunday's Brazil Band concert to feature Janelle Huber return

BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band will present "Hoosier Band: Return of the Rough Rider" Sunday, July 10 at 8 p.m. in Forest Park, rain or shine.

The Rough Rider is Janelle Huber who is band director at Red River High School, home of the Rough Riders, in Grand Forks, N.D.

She is the daughter of Melanie and Matthew Huber and sister of John Huber.

Janelle has earned a reputation as a fine high school band director and performs on flute and piccolo in the Grand Forks Community Band and Symphony Orchestra.

She also teaches summer band camps in North Dakota and at the International Peace Gardens on the border of the U.S. and Canada.

Hoosier titles for the Bicentennial of Indiana this week are Fred Jewell's "At Break of Dawn" and "The Westerner."

The BCB will also play "Rough Riders" by Karl King and his signature overture "The Princess of India."

Also offered is "Damn Yankees" by Ross, "Black Horse Troop" by Sousa, "Blue Tango" by Anderson, "Irish Rhapsody" by Grundman, "Moonlight Serenade" by Miller and "Lassus Trombone" by Fillmore.

Janelle Huber will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" arranged by Sousa.
