Lawrence J. 'Larry' Massena

Lawrence J. "Larry" Massena, 68, of Fillmore, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016.

Born Jan. 3, 1948 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Joseph and Leona Massena.

He was a graduate of Howe High School.

Larry entered the Army after graduation and served in the Vietnam War.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as a bulk mail technician.

He was a member of the VFW and AARP.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristina L. Massena; a son, Lawrence A. "Tony" Massena; his mother, Leona Massena; a sister, Carolyn Sue McNeil; grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner Thompson, Blake and Jayce Massena, Bradley Thacker and Logan Neeley; and a great-granddaughter, Addie Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay Massena; daughter, Dorothy Neeley; and his father.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory to the American Cancer Society.

A private family viewing was conducted. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
