County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

* At 5:55 p.m. Christopher Joseph Elrod, 41, Quincy, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for driving with a suspended license.

* At 4:28 p.m. Kenneth Glen Pingleton, 38, Fillmore, was arrested on a warrant for nonsupport of a dependent.

* At 4:20 p.m. Alisha Marie Lewis, 35, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

* At 12:22 a.m. Anthony Ray Eversole, 36, Poland, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

City Polce

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 11:56 p.m. Thursday, Shana Cassandra Trinkle, 46, Coatesville, was arrested by Officer Zach Rhine at the Chiyoda plant on Indianapolis Road.

Trinkle, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a syringe.

* At 2:01 p.m. Thursday, Nicholas Shane Ritz, 26, Cloverdale, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee at the storage units off Tennessee Street.

Ritz, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

* At 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Natalie Floyd, 33, Greencastle, who was accompanying Ritz at the time, was also arrested by Officer Lee.

Picked up on a Putnam County warrant, Floyd was lodged in the county jail.

Greencastle officers issued a summons to four Greencastle residents for either possession of marijuana or possession of paraphernalia in recent GPD activity.

* At 8:46 p.m. Thursday, Susan Ewing, 59, Greencastle, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Ewing was stopped on Hillcrest Drive by Reserve Officer Tom Downing.

* At 8:41 p.m. Thursday, Tom Dloniak, 53, Greencastle, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana by Officer Elsiana Crosby.

Dloniak, reportedly accompanying Ewing, was also stopped on Hillcrest Drive .

* At 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Kyle Kelly, 23, Greencastle, was issued a summons by Capt. Charles Inman.

Kelly was cited for reckless possession of marijuana at a Melrose Avenue residence.

* At 1:07 a.m. Tuesday, Sean Conway, 29, Greencastle, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana,

Conway was stopped on State Road 240 by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

One recent traffic citation was issued by city officers.

* At 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Debra Carson, 56, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Inman for disregarding a traffic control signal on U.S. 23.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

* At 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Dawnell N. Stewart, 52, Bainbridge, was northbound on U.S. 231, just south of U.S. 36, in a 2009 Ford Edge when she hit a deer.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to six dispatches and two medical assists.

* At 1:09 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD kept four crew members on standby for Buzzi Unicem, 3301 S. County Road 150 West, after issues with air conditions earlier in the week. No issues ultimately took place.

* At 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to the overuse of body powder at 412 S. Indiana St.

* At 3:54 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 609 S. Locust St. but found nothing. GFD subsequently reset the alarm and returned to station.

* At 5:16 p.m. on Thursday, GFD performed a smoke investigation at 1206 Castlebury Dr. The occupants of the residence had accidentally burned dinner on a grill outside the home, causing smoke to flood the apartment. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 5:31 p.m.

* At 5:18 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 616 Brentfeld Ln. It was determined that the alarm had been set off unnecessarily as there was no fire present. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 5:31 p.m.

* At 6:35 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 507 S. Locust St. The alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily. GFD subsequently reset the alarm and returned to station at 7:02 a.m.
