County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

* At 5:32 p.m. Aaron David Lydle, 26, North Salem, was lodged a the jail on a warrant.

* At 4:56 p.m. Julie Mae Vogel, 39, Bainbridge, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

* At 1:40 p.m. Heather Marie Allen, 31, Greencastle, was arrested on a local warrant.

* At 1:20 p.m. Katherine Graham Beard, 26, Danville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Wednesday

* At 10:34 p.m. Graylon Dwight Bell, 49, Terre Haute, was booked in by court order.

* At 10:01 p.m. Alex Michael Hardcastle, 27, no city listed, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

* At 4:21 p.m. Jerry Edward Minnick, 48, Gosport, was taken into custody on a court order.

* At 8:36 a.m. John Randal Stewart, 41, Brazil, was arrested on a court order.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers

* At 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, Michael Lukenbill, 33, Greencastle, was arrested at a Hillsdale Avenue residence by Sgt. Eric Vaughan.

Lukenbill, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was also wanted on a Tippecanoe County warrant for unlawful possession of a legend drug or precursor, along with a warrant for theft.

In other GPD activity, a Coatesville woman will be summoned into court on a charge of driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Alyson Bettis, 24, was stopped by Capt. Chris Jones at College Avenue and Moore Court at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday.

One recent traffic citation was issued by city officers.

* At 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 22, Kaytlin Flatt, 25, Poland, was ticketed by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Flatt was cited for an expired license plate.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to three recent property-damage crashes.

* At 5:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Marsha R. Dowell, 54, Brazil, was northbound on County Road 50 West in a 2006 Dodge Durango when she hit a deer.

The vehicle was towed. Capt. Tom Helmer estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 11:12 p.m. on Tuesday, Peter M. Wilson, 39, Cloverdale, was westbound on County Road 400 South approaching a 90-degree turn onto County Road 725 East in a 2012 Ford Escape.

Wilson told Deputy Anthony Brown an eastbound vehicle approached him with bright headlights and he could not see the curve, instead continuing straight off the road and hitting a tree.

Wilson was not injured and was able to drive the vehicle from the scene.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, Walton E. Clevinger, 80, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 600 West approaching the County Road 725 East intersection in a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. Jessica J. Pickens, 28, Coatesville, was northbound on 725 East stopped at the intersection in a 2011 Dodge Nitro.

Pickens told Deputy Scott Ducker she proceeded into the four-way stop intersection but Clevinger failed to stop and collided with her vehicle.

Clevinger admitted he failed to stop, causing the front corners of the two vehicles to collide.

Clevinger was cited in the incident.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
