Sally McAfee, 76, of Russellville, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016.

Sally was born Nov. 14, 1939 at Greencastle to William C. and Opal Frank Spencer.

Sally graduated from Russellville High School and attended two years at Butler University and graduated from Porter Business College in Indianapolis.

She was a member of Russellville Community Church where she played the piano and organ for more than 40 years, Order of Eastern Star at Russellville, mother adviser for the Rainbow Girls in Russellville, that she help to start.

She also played the organ at Machledt and Servies Funeral Home for many, many years. She was a Olympic torch bearer for the Summer Olympics in 1996.

Co-owner of a flower shop between Waveland and Russellville, former clerk-treasurer of Russellville, and worked with her husband at Russellville Lumber as the bookkeeper.

She is survived by her husband, James W. McAfee, whom she married on Feb. 10, 1961 at Russellville; a daughter, Kristy (David) Dooley of Rockville; and two grandchildren, Lacy and Colten Dooley.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Tim S. McAfee.

According to Sally's wishes the family chose cremation. There will be a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Russellville Community Church.
