Thursday, August 4, 2016

Vincent Michael "Mike" Migliano, 67, of Cloverdale, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by family, following a difficult struggle with his health.

Mike was born in Indianapolis on April 12, 1949 to Rose Stone and Joseph Migliano.

As a child, he loved to play baseball. He made friends easily and was very popular in school. As a sophomore in high school, Mike was elected president of the Catholic Youth Organization. His Catholic faith remained important to him throughout his life.

Mr. Migliano lived a rich and varied life. He served in the Army from 1968 to 1974, where he obtained his Airborne Badge and was a member of the Military Police.

He was an avid scuba diver and worked at a dive shop in Miami following his military service. In 1985, he began working for the Department of Defense in Indianapolis. He worked there for 20 years, starting in Naval Avionics and working his way to the position of deputy director.

Mike was a dedicated father who attended every sporting event for each of his four sons and volunteered as their Little League coach when they were young. Family gatherings at his house always involved and overabundance of Italian food.

On Saturdays, you could always find Mike rooting for Notre Dame football with a bowl of chili simmering on the stove. He loved to go fishing in the pond on the family's property, and would often bring along his children or his grandchildren.

He is survived by his brother, Tony; his six children, Jason, Susanna, Joseph, Thomas, Michael and Christopher; and two grandchildren, Sophia and Gabriel.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Stone Brozenske, who died earlier this year.

Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center in Indianapolis.
