CLOVERDALE -- A pair of Indianapolis residents were airlifted from the scene of an early-morning wreck on Interstate 70 Monday.

Matthew J. Goode, 38, and Frances M. Moore, 62, were both flown from the scene to nearby trauma centers following the single-vehicle crash.

Shortly before 4 a.m., Redonna S. Goode, 39, Indianapolis, was eastbound on I-70 near the 41-mile marker when her 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche ran off the inside shoulder.

The vehicle entered the median and struck a cable barrier, causing it to flip over. It came to rest upright, facing west in the westbound lanes.

Matthew Goode was thrown from the vehicle. Moore was trapped in the front passenger seat and had to be extricated by Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department personnel.

Cloverdale firefighters subsequently set up a landing zone for a pair of helicopters to take the two most seriously injured passengers from the scene.

Redonna Goode and her three other passengers -- Larry J. Goode, 63; Justice M. Goode, 17; and Jorden H. Goode, 16 -- were all treated at the scene by personnel from Operation Life and released.

Deputy Mike Downing reported that the vehicle was completely disabled and had to be towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

Traffic was restricted in the area for multiple hours.
