Robert "Bob" Lee Young, 79, Brazil, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Harrison Crossing Healthcare in Terre Haute with his family at his side.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1936 in Putnam County to the late William Elmer Young and Dorothy (Williamson) Young.

Bob graduated from Van Buren High School in 1956, and went on to marry Helen Sowers on July 5, 1963.

He worked for Cook Lumber in Reelsville, and retired from Lonestar in Greencastle in 2001.

Bob was a member of the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, the Riley Masonic Lodge 390, and volunteered on the Reelsville Fire Department.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going camping, boating, gardening and watching NASCAR.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; brothers Howard, Ralph, Vernon, Melvin and Elmer. and by his sisters, Wilma Bayer, Mary Lou Horn and Doretta Morris.

Survivors include his children, Connie (Mark) Smith, Crawfordsville, Robert Scott (Joanne) Young, Clinton, Larry (Joni) Young, Reelsville, Kim (Bill) Siegelin, Rockville; brothers: Harold Young, Dayton, Ky., and Fred (Cindy) Young, Brazil; sisters Leona (Bob) Morris, Brazil, and Ellen Fisher, Harmony; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil, with Pastor Gordon Nelson officiating.

The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 4 p.m.. until the time of service.

Bob will be laid to rest in a private service at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green.
