Betty H. Keyt, 92, of Brazil, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 while living at Cloverleaf Health Care.

She was born July 4, 1924, in Parke County, the daughter of Otis A. and Bessie (Roach) Lancaster.

She worked at Clay County Hospital for 30 years.

Family was the focus of Betty's life. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren, cooking and taking care of her home. Later in life she found enjoyment in gardening and feeding the birds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Keyt, whom she married on Oct. 28, 1940; a son, Larry Lee Keyt; a daughter-in-law, Kay Keyt; a grandson, Travis Keyt; two brothers, Jim Lancaster and Joe Lancaster and a sister, Mary Alice Thomas.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Debbie Perkins and husband Bill of Roachdale and Jeannie Somers of Knightsville; grandchildren Tim Keyt, Rusty Keyt, Christina Keyt, Tony Keyt, Jamie Doub, J.C. Somers, Billy Perkins and wife Becky, Brooke Griffin and husband Brent and 12 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joe Thomas, and two nephews, Bobby Joe Lancaster and Jimmy Wayne Lancaster.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2. Burial will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.
