Friends of the Park schedule membership meeting Sept. 8

The Greencastle Friends of the Park (FOTP) Association members welcome the public to join them for their 2016 Annual Membership Meeting and program beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in the meeting room of Civil Engineering Consultants, 1285 S. Jackson St., Greencastle.

The program will be about the progress of the community city parks and the Putnam Nature Trail.

Jessica Hartman, principal engineer of CECON, will present a brief program of her involvement with the improvement and creation of several city parks and the soon-to-open Putnam Nature Trail. Hartman will share her experience with working with groups to create community recreation improvements and her many photos of such projects.

A dessert will be followed by a short business meeting.

Founded in 1995, the Greencastle Friends of the Park Association was formed by a committed group of citizens dedicated to improving the recreational options for all citizens. The Friends' first project was the castle playground in Robe-Ann Park
