County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

* At 10:20 p.m. Alexis Cheyenne Bean, 19, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a warrant for probation violation.

* At 3:03 p.m. Gary T. Huff, 44, Russellville, was taken into custody on a warrant for driving with a suspended license.

* At 8:55 a.m. Eric Farris Whitehead, 38, Greencastle, was arrested on a court order.

* At 7:01 a.m. Terry A. Faulkner, 46, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

Sunday

* At 12:27 p.m. Herbert Arthur Dewbrew, 34, Greencastle, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

Saturday

* At 1:06 p.m. Anthony Joe Spiker, 33, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Friday

* At 10:15 p.m. Eric E. Pena, 19, Greencastle, was charged with battery.

City Police

Greencastle City Police officers made three recent arrests.

* At 7:21 a.m. Sunday, two occupants of an apartment above Don Julio's Mexican Restaurant on the north side of the courthouse square were arrested by Officer Zach Rhine following a reported disturbance and altercation.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of battery resulting in serious injury were Jose Ramirez-Llano, 44, Greencastle, and Sotero Sanchez, 31, Greencastle.

* At 7:06 p.m. Friday, a 36-year-old Greencastle man was arrested on three charges after Capt. Charles Inman stopped his vehicle on Houck Road on the city's northeast side.

Brandon Cox was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.

Under portable breathalyzer testing, Cox registered a blood-alcohol level of .183 percent.

Two recent citations were issued by city officers.

* At 2:29 p.m. Sunday, Shanelle Wallace, 33, Greencastle, was cited by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Wallace was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

* At 10:54 p.m. Saturday, Deandre Williams, 26, Terre Haute, was cited by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Williams was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three dispatches, three medical assists and one lift assist.

* At 7:16 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, GFD responded to reports of smoke in the area of Hillsville Street and Greenwood Avenue. GFD was unable to find any smoke upon arrival and subsequently returned to station.

* At 9:28 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to excessive steam from an iron at 208 E. Olive St.

* At 11:28 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, GFD responded to reports of a gas leak at 704 Maple St. Upon arrival, GFD found the leak was secured by an unknown party. GFD monitored the air, finding nothing, before returning to station.
