Jack Emerson Knox, 87, of Greencastle, and formerly of Clay County, passed away at The Waters of Greencastle on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.

Jack was born May 17, 1929, in Centerpoint, the son of Walter D. and Mary Gertrude (Dierdorf) Knox.

He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1947 and served his country in the United States Army.

Jack worked most of his life as a farmer near Centerpoint. He also worked for Stuart Moore as a truck driver, Clay Community Schools as a bus driver and as a seed salesman for Golden Harvest.

Jack is survived by his wife Nancy, of Greencastle; a daughter Joanne Northcutt and husband Phillip of Crawfordsville, Indiana; three stepchildren: Mark Richard Canull Jr. of Greenwood, Maaike Rachel Allen of Cloverdale and Meadalee Rochelle Beauchamp of Greencastle; grandchildren: Ruthina Kay Veltman; step-grandchildren: Makenzie Reann Allen, Layton Ray Allen, Abigail Louise Beauchamp, Ryan Leon Beauchamp Jr. and Kevin Douglas Beauchamp and a great-granddaughter Charlotte Quinn Veltman, a sister Mary Kathryn Kellum as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Knox; a son Gregory Allen Knox; a granddaughter Katrina Lynn Northcutt; and 13 brothers and sisters: Walter Stanley Knox, Edith Gertrude Knox, Pauline Elizabeth Knox, Richard Byron Knox, Lloyd Eldon Knox, Freeda Lucille Knox, James Madison Knox, Wilma Evelyn Knox, Melvin Theodore Knox, Thornton Forrest Knox, Carl Wesley Knox, Edward Leroy Knox, and Ruth Imogene Knox.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with Pastors Josh Knox and Wes McClure officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
