Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the street Friday night in Greencastle as First Friday and Taste of Putnam County merge for the first time, drawing a large crowd downtown. Youngsters get into the music (above) on South Indiana Street as Blues Side Up performs, while among more than a dozen food vendors, Tap House 24, serves up some taste treats outdoors while patrons indoors enjoy the large open windows looking out onto the street.

  • What a terrific night it was. I was born here in the 40's and it has been a long time since I have seen Greencastle really alive. People everywhere, music, food, family and good friends make a lot of memories. It was so nice to walk down the street and see this along with everyone smiling and having fun. People stopping to say hi or comment about the evening. This night was a true SUCCESS for Greencastle. Thanks to all the organizers and everyone involved for making Greencastle a place to come for a super evening. Didn't need to drive out of town for a good time.
