William M. ‘Bill’ Robbins
On Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 our Lord and Savior called his faithful servant home to rest in His arms.
William M. “Bill” Robbins was born on May 16, 1932 to the late James D. and Mabel (Van Cleave) Robbins.
He graduated from Roachdale High School in 1950. Bill married Helen (Page) Robbins on June 14, 1951 and together they celebrated 65 years of love. They were blessed with four children Dennis (Cheri), Paul (Sherri) Richard (Barb) and Cindia (Dean).
Bill served in active duty from 1952-1954 in the Korean War.
He worked for R.R. Donnelly in Crawfordsville for 16 years then he worked, established and operated Robbins & Sons Inc in Roachdale for 39 years.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and studying wildlife. His hobbies included woodworking, beekeeping and talking with friends.
Eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren brought joy and laughter to his life. He is also survived by two siblings; Darrell (Ina) Robbins, Wilma Quigg, four nieces and one nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons James Aaron and Michael Travis.
Graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 at Roachdale Cemetery with Pastor Wally Beam officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
