Deputies arrived and found Michael E. Schicker, 35, Fillmore, on the front porch of a residence at 3390 S. County Road 25 West. Houghton said he appeared to have multiple injuries to his head, knees and arms.

Due to his traumatic injuries, Schicker was unable to give a statement. He was transported to Putnam County Hospital by Operation Life.

Deputies found Schicker’s 1998 Ford ZX2 about a quarter mile east of the residence.

It appeared Schicker had been westbound on County Road 400 South when his car left the road and traveled alongside fencing before hitting a tree.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. The car was towed.

• At 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, Stacy R. Boswell, 41, Greencastle, was southbound on U.S. 231 north of County Road 200 North in a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu when she saw a cow in the middle of her lane.

Boswell told Deputy Downing she had no time to brake or swerve, hitting the cow and causing extensive damage.

Boswell refused medical treatment and said she would go to the hospital later if necessary.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000. The vehicle was not towed.

• At 1:33 p.m. on Sunday, Philip T. Carrington, 89, Russellville, was northbound on County Road 725 West when he came to a stop sign at State Road 236 in a 2012 GMC Terrain.

Carrington told Reserve Deputy Rick Lambert he was concerned with eastbound traffic due to trees in his line of sight.

He did not notice the westbound 2007 Honda Accord driven by Jeffrey D. Toner, 54, Alkerton, approaching from his right.

Toner told Lambert he saw Carrington stop but then proceed into the intersection.

Carrington hit the driver’s side of Toner’s car.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 1:38 a.m. on Saturday, Jacob O. Austin, 18, Franklin, was westbound on Interstate 70 near the 33-mile marker in a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 8:38 p.m. on Friday, Deputy Downing was dispatched to U.S. 40 near County Road 550 West.

He found a 2002 Ford Windstar pinned under the driver’s side of a semi trailer with a white female trapped inside the minivan.

Downing said the tractor trailer, a 2004 International 9200I, appeared to have been making a U-turn in the crossover of the highway.

Jordan Trey A. Schoemaker, 20, Terre Haute, told Downing he had been eastbound on U.S. 40 at around 60 mph. He saw the semi on the right with only his hazard lights activated.

Schoemaker said he tried to pass the semi when it cut across in front of him.

Dennis Barnett, 73, Brazil, said he was sitting on the right shoulder with his four-way flasher activated. He was preparing to make a U-turn and go westbound. He told Downing he checked for traffic and saw no one on the road.

Barnett said he was about halfway through the turn when the other vehicle ran into his trailer.

Reelsville Fire Department was able to extricate Schoemaker’s passenger, Kelsie D. Sanders, 23, Terre Haute, from the vehicle. Operation Life attended to her needs until the arrival of a helicopter to transport her from the scene.
