‘Lights of Hope’ event set for Saturday, Sept. 24 at courthouse
September is National Recovery Month.
And in celebration, Lights of Hope 2016 -- The Addict’s Mom (TAM) event other counties have done in the past -- will make its inaugural Greencastle appearance to honor and support all whose lives have been touched by addiction.
It will be staged 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 on the Putnam County Courthouse lawn as an opportunity to honor and support loved ones in their respective stages of recovery.
That will be done by lighting three candles – a white candle for those in recovery, a black candle for those who have lost a loved one to addiction, and a red candle for those who are in active recovery.
The event will include speakers, a candlelight vigil and a balloon launch.
Participants are urged to bring a candle to support their loved one, a photo of their loved one to share and a chair if you will need to sit down.
