42nd Berry Street flea market slated for Saturday, Oct. 1

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Berry Street residents will be hosting their annual flea market this Saturday, Oct. 1, marking their 42nd year of welcoming bargain hunters, visitors and former residents to their Greencastle neighborhood.

Along with the traditional flea-market treasures visitors will also find a variety of food and sweets, including the traditional bean soup and cornbread being cooked over an open fire on South College Avenue, just a few feet south of Berry Street.

For first-time visitors, Berry Street is located a mile south of the Putnam County courthouse on the city’s southwest side.

A port-o-let will be placed in the parking lot on the east side of Berry Insurance just east of Locust Street.

The city has again exempted parking regulations on Berry Street for Saturday’s annual event.
