BIS to host barbecue dinner Friday night

The Bainbridge Improvement Society will host a barbecue dinner from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday.

The pulled pork will be made on site by Brian Smith at the Bainbridge Community Building on U.S. 36. The barbecue meal includes two sides, dessert and drink for $9.

Carry-out is available.

The Bainbridge Improvement Society began as a volunteer effort to purchase a new snow plow for the town after the devastating blizzards of 1978 and 1979. Later the volunteers helped the town to secure state funding for the community building completed in 2001.

BIS maintains the east side of the community building and supports community projects. Funds from the semi-annual dinners have helped support community activities such as the Bainbridge July fireworks show, May clean-up day, the summer sports parks in Bainbridge and the local Girl Scouts among others through the years.
