City Police

One arrest was reported Thursday night by Greencastle City Police.

Nycki Eschenburg, 18, a DePauw University student whose address was listed as Locust Street, was arrested at 8:50 p.m. by Officer Matt Huffman following a traffic stop at Locust and Washington streets.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Eschenburg was charged with reckless possession of paraphernalia.

One property-damage accident was investigated Thursday afternoon by city officers.

At 3:20 p.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported at Veterans Memorial Highway and Cemetery Road.

Officer Nick Eastham reported that Jeanette Tiedemann, 48, Cloverdale, was westbound on Veterans Highway, driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck, when she turned left onto Cemetery Road in front of an eastbound 2003 Ford Escort driven by Katie Sutherlin, 17, Greencastle.

Sutherlin said she had no time to avoid the turning truck. Her statement was confirmed by a witness traveling behind the Tiedemann vehicle.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Correction

Amber Dawn Bartley, 29, Greencastle, was incorrectly listed in the jail portion of Putnam Scanner on Friday as being housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine. She was actually charged with possession of paraphernalia.
