Cloverdale's Cameron Mann named Purdue homecoming queen

Cloverdale native Cameron Mann is crowned Purdue University homecoming queen Saturday as she poses with homecoming king Trevor Peters of Fishers. The daughter of Rob and Malinda Mann of Cloverdale, she will graduate in May with a degree in agricultural communication and agribusiness marketing.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Accolades and awards keep coming for Purdue University senior Cameron Mann, who Saturday was named the school's 2016 homecoming queen.

The daughter of Rob and Malinda Mann of Cloverdale, Mann has spent the last four years in Purdue's College of Agriculture and is preparing to graduate in May with a degree in agricultural communication and agribusiness marketing.

She is serving a two-year term through June 30, 2017 as the student representative to the Purdue Board of Trustees, appointed by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

A 2012 Cloverdale High School graduate, Mann was Indiana FFA state president from 2012-13. Her college honors have included being ag ambassador for Purdue, Indiana Pork Producers Youth ambassador, Cargill Global Scholar and dean's list.

At Purdue, she is also secretary of the Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board, executive director of the Purdue Ag Week Task Force, and a member of Media Purdue Foundation Student Board and

Purdue Ag Ambassadors.

Meanwhile, homecoming king Trevor Peters is a senior and will graduate with a degree in mass communication.

Members of the Purdue homecoming court were chosen by completing formal interviews by a judging panel comprised of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders. Students then voted online to choose the queen and king from the members of the homecoming court.

The queen's court includes Lauren Ashack, Tinley Park, Ill.; Kayla Bacon, Crawfordsville; Shea Farren Catellier, Indianapolis; Yiwei Huang, China; Blair Williams, St. Louis; and Ashley Zeiner, Fishers.

The king's court includes Mark Adams, McHenry, Ill.; David Bechtel, New Lenox, Ill.; Scott Campbell, Fort Wayne; George Crabtree, Somerset, N.J.; I-Fan Lin, Taiwan; and Brian Rogers, San Marina, Calif.
