Beverly Anne Jones-Steele

Beverly Anne Jones-Steele, 64, of Cloverdale, passed unexpectedly on early Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, 2016, at Riverview Health in Noblesville.

She is survived by husband Wally Steele. They married on May 27, 2005.

Bev is also survived by her mother, Naomi Jackson, Indianapolis, sisters Belinda (Chet) Miles, Carmel, Ill. and Betsy (Chuck) Hyder, Davis, Calif. Aunts, cousins and other relatives are numerous.

Children include Sharon (Todd) Stierwalt, Paragon, Troy (Kim) Jones, and Tim (Melissa) Jones of Terre Haute, Michelle (Michael) Smith, Bloomington, and Charlene (Jay) Wyatt, Fayetteville, N.C. She welcomed Stacey, Wes and Vivianna Steele into the family when she married Wally.

Grandchildren include Elizabeth (David) Porth, Catherine and Jayse Wyatt, Nick Archer, Sarah and Whitney Stierwalt, Morgan Smith, Wyatt Jones, Taylor and Logan Jones, and Vivianna Steele. She was also known as "Crazy Aunt Bev" to many youngsters as well. She was a loyal friend to many more.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Lee Jones, Aug. 2, 2002 and her brother Bryan Hirt in 2009.

Bev was serving as the Elks' District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Indiana West Central District and has been an Elk member since 2006 most recently in the Rockville Lodge as Past Exalted Ruler and as a member of the Greencastle Lodge 1077. She also held memberships in Women of the Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Bev served on the Putnam County Community Foundation working with grants and scholarship selection. She enjoyed the praise team and the weekly message by Matt Nichols at the Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale.

As a registrant with the Indiana Donor Network Bev was able to give the gift of life through tissue donation.

Visitation at Hopkins-Rector, in Greencastle, will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with Elk from across the state performing the "Lodge of Sorrow" memorial service at 7:30 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a gathering at Soul Harvest Church at 14 Crosswinds Dr, Cloverdale.

A private interment will be held at a later time in Cloverdale alongside Byron "Barney" Jones.
