Green Light Celebration
Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department Director Roderick Weinschenk (center) was recently recognized and inducted into the Green Light Legacy Hall of Fame in Terre Haute. Weinschenk earned the honor for his part in promoting a sustainable tomorrow with projects like replacing light fixtures with more energy-efficient ones on the Robe-Ann Park softball field, conserving water by recirculating the water at the Bob York Splash Park, planting trees at both Joanne Haymaker Tree Grove and 19-hole disc golf course at Big Walnut Sports Park and providing healthy opportunities through the construction and maintenance of the People Pathways trails. Celebrating Weinschenk’s selection are the evening’s emcee, Jane Santucci, of Santucci Marketing and Public Relations, and R. John Gibson, Sustainable Indiana 2016 state coordinator.
