County Jail

Eleven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 7:01 p.m. Michael Ryan Runnells, 31, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Wednesday

• At 7:07 p.m. John Ingomar Maynard, 54, Reelsville, was arrested on a local warrant.

• At 4:48 p.m. Timothy Lee Miller, 46, Greencastle, was charged with criminal trespass.

• At 11:22 a.m. Joseph Scott Copeland, 30, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Sunday

• At 1 p.m. Brandi Jo Troxal, 38, Brazil, was taken into custody for nonsupport of a dependent

Saturday

• At 7:22 p.m. Kayla Renee Spiker, 23, Reelsville, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction and resisting law enforcement.

• At 7:21 p.m. Peter Jess Inman, 29, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 3:38 p.m. Brandi Nicole Crew, 20, Cloverdale, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Friday

• At 3:54 p.m. Pattie Lynn Martin, 50, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 10:04 a.m. Terry Dye Jr., 21, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a warrant.

• At 10:02 p.m. Jason Douglas Rivers, 38, Greencastle, was charged with possession of a syringe.

City Police

Greencastle City Police officers issued one recent speeding citation.

• At 10:38 a.m. Thursday, Michael Stone, 19, Muncie was ticketed by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Stopped on Washington Street at Stadium Drive, Stone was cited for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County Sheriff’s department personnel responded to seven recent property-damage crashes.

• At 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, Erica D. Carter, 34, Greencastle, was southbound on Indiana 75 approaching Indiana 240 in a 2014 Ford Fusion. Norma L. Rosnake, 74, Danville, was eastbound on 240 stopped at the intersection in a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox.

Carter told Capt. Tom Helmer she turned on her right turn signal to indicate her desire to turn westbound on U.S. 40, which is several hundred feet south of State Road 240.

Rosnake said she believed Carter was turning right onto 240 so she entered the intersection. Rosnake’s car hit the right front and door of Carter’s vehicle.

Neither driver was injured. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000. Carter’s vehicle was towed.

Deputy Scott Ducker assisted at the scene.

• At 5:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Kathleen M. Meyers, 57, Cloverdale, was westbound on County Road 1000 South in a 2010 Toyota Prius. Saphire C. Massey, 18, Qincy, was also westbound in a 2002 Kia Sportage.

Meyers told Deputy Riley Houghton she had her turn signal on, attempting to turn into her driveway, when she was rear-ended by Massey.

Massey said she saw Meyers begin to slow and turn into the driveway but her brakes failed and she could not avoid the collision.

Meyers cmplaiend of neck pain. Operation Life trasnported her to Putnam County Hospital.

Meyer’s vehicle came to rest in her yard and she requested it not be towed. Massey’s vehicle was towed.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Casey D. Buis, 19, Cloverdale, was southbound on County Road 275 East just south of County Road 325 South in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am.

Buis told Deputy Jacob Harrington she couldn’t see the road due to fog and ran off the west side of the road, coming to rest in a field.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Beverly S. Rolison, 65, Poland, was eastbound on Manhattan Road just east of County Road 300 West in a 2007 Ford Explorer shen she hit a deer.

Operation Life treated Rolison for an elbow/lower arm injury.

Lt. Donnie Pettit estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000. The vehicle was towed.

• At 8:51 p.m. on Sunday, Seth B. Turner, 27, Indianapolis, was westbound on Interstate 70 in a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu when he hit a deer.

Deputy Houghton estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, Christina S. Nickerson, 63, Angleton, Texas, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2012 Merceded-Benz C250 when she hit a deer.

Deputy Houghton estimated damage at less than $1,000.

• At 5:33 p.m. on Sunday, Jeffery T. Elliott, 41, Coatesville, was eastbound on County Road 525 North in a 1999 pick-up truck. Cory Cable, 47, Indianapolis, was southbound on County Road 825 East in a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Reserve Deputy Ken Rozelle said the two vehicle were entering a 90-degree turn when Cable slid into Elliott’s lane due to the wet road.

The front driver’s side corners of the two vehicle collided.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, Dennis R. Krauth, 29, Brazil, was maneuvering the parking lot at Putnamville Correctional Facility in a 15-passenger 2006 Chevrolet van registered to the Department of Correction.

Krauth turned sharply, damaging the bumper and front end of a 2006 Jeep registered to Jason Hause of Indianapolis.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches.

• At 7:30 a.m. on Friday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 203 Northwood Blvd. Finding nothing, GFD simply advised the situation and determined a new detector head be installed in the residence.

• At 7:51 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at Phoenix Closures, 2000 S. Jackson St. GFD determined that the alarm had been set off unnecessarily and, after investigating, reset the alarm before returning to station.
