The United Way of Putnam County has announced the appointment of Joe Buser as its new executive director.

“Joe brings tremendous enthusiasm, experience and passion for the wellbeing and success of Putnam County,” Cathy Tipton, president of the board of directors for the United Way, said. “We are excited about the new direction of our efforts as look forward to a successful 2017 campaign.”

Buser has been extremely involved with the Roachdale Revitalization Cooperative Alliance, which he serves as president. He also serves on the Putnam County Museum Board of Directors, is a member of the Planning Commission for the Town of Roachdale, and is director of the Putnam County Film Commission.

“I am thrilled to assume the position of executive director for the United Way of Putnam County,” Buser said, “and look forward to working with our amazing partner agencies throughout the Putnam County.

“We all have a stake in what befalls our fellow man,” he added. “We all benefit when a child succeeds in school, when someone finds a job that will help them provide for their family, or when more people are able to access quality, affordable health care. We rise or fall together.”

Buser reminded Putnam County residents that United Way has 12 partnering agencies, which will be featured in the Banner Graphic over the next month.

“We are very fortunate to have so many remarkable individuals who work tirelessly to provide essential services to our residents,” he said. “I thank them for their incredible selfless devotion and sacrifice for the sake of our community and pledge to work diligently to assist in reaching their financial goals. We will work collaboratively, effectively and strategically to improve pressing local health and human service needs, while creating a caring and responsive community.”

The United Way campaign this year, which kicks off on Nov. 1, will be presented as ThanksGIVING 2017.
