Frances Lucille Harris Evans

Frances Lucille (Hendrich) Harris Evans, 94, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016.

Born June 25, 1922 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Herman and Freda (Heil) Hendrich.

She was a 1940 graduate of Bainbridge High School and Central Business College.

Frances had worked at Horace Link Furniture and in the Putnam County Auditor's Office. She served on the Putnam County Council for four years.

Frances was a member of the First Christian Church, Brick Chapel United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 255.

She is survived by her children, Shirley (Mike) Richards of Danville, Elaine (Lance) Myers of Fillmore, Arthur (Becky) Harris, and David (Terri) Harris, both of Greencastle; a brother, Roy Hendrich of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Harris and Paul Evans; sisters Mary Reed and Louise Knauer; and a brother, Paul Hendrich.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at the funeral home with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
