Georgenna 'George' Rose Gick

Georgenna "George" Rose Gick, 60, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.

She was born May 7, 1956 in Beech Grove, the daughter of George Clifford and Betty Rosemary (Fry) Robinson.

She was a graduate of Cascade High School and attended Indiana University.

George served in number of occupations, bank teller, secretary, middle school registrar and executive assistant, both in the United States and overseas over the course of her husband's 30-year Army career.

She gave birth to their three children in three different states. She made a home in 18 different locales around the world. As an Army wife, she mentored an untold number of military wives and served a host of volunteer organizations supporting military communities.

Locally, George was a homemaker, had served as a member of the United Way Board and was an active volunteer and member of KDP and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip J. Gick; son, Geoffrey Gick (Alexis Hoskins); daughters, Karissa Gick Randall (Guy) and Brianne Nicole Gick Foster (Robert); her mother, Betty Robinson; sisters, Phyllis Hayes (George), Lisa Schlundt (Gary), and Becky Sallee (Bryan); a brother, Glenn Robinson (Debbie); and grandchildren Zachary Gick, Guy, Quinlan, Isabella Rose Randall, Aubrey Rose and Abigail Foster.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to Heritage Preservation Society of Putnam County or the Putnam County Senior Center.
