Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center officials attended the DePauw University volleyball game Saturday, Oct. 15 to cheer on the Tigers and to accept a check from the team’s fundraising efforts.

Cancer Center manager Rhonda McCammack, RN, along with Julie Beatty, RN, were on hand to accept a check for $1,800 that was raised by the volleyball team.

During the game, the PCH Cancer Center had a table outside of the gym with breast cancer education as well as some freebies for the students and fans.

“The cancer center and its patients are always so thankful for our local supporters,” McCammack said. “We are amazed at the support we have from our schools and students.

“The Cancer Center uses 100 percent of these donations to go toward helping the cancer patient,” she added. “Whether it’s for travel, for medication, food or anything in between. Every dollar makes the patient’s journey a little less stressful financially.”
