Although the group did not place in the Top 10, it was the first time they had qualified for the competition in two years. The next event will be “A Christmas Sing” set for Dec. 12. Women of all ages are invited to practice for the event starting Nov. 14 from 7-8 p.m. in the Greencastle Middle School.

The Covered Bridge Harmony competed at the Harmony International Convention and Contest for the first time in two years.

The competition was held in Providence, Rhode Island, this past weekend, and the group performed two songs from “Hello Dolly.”

“We felt good about our performance coming off the stage,” Denise Thede said. “However we did not break the Top 10. However, we qualified outright for (the International Convention and Contest) this year, which we hadn’t done for the past two years. So we are very proud of our accomplishments.”

Looking forward, the group will review their performance and seek to improve their work for next year’s competition.

Covered Bridge Harmony also invites women of all ages and musical backgrounds to sing with them as they prepare for “A Christmas Sing,” a Christmas show set for Dec. 12. The group will practice starting Nov. 14 from 7-8 p.m. in the Greencastle Middle School and continuing until Dec. 12.
