Terre Haute driver jailed for doing 127 mph on U.S. Highway 36

HOLLANDSBURG — Indiana State Police Trooper Chuck Murphy was patrolling U.S. 36 in eastern Parke County about 9:25 p.m. Monday when he clocked a sports car traveling at 127 mph in a 55-mph zone on westbound U.S. 36 near County Road 275 East.

The 2017 Dodge Viper was stopped and the driver identified as 42-year-old Douglas J. McGuirk of Terre Haute.

Trooper Murphy incarcerated McGuirk in the Parke County Jail at Rockville on a charge of reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor.
