Dale E. Detro

Dale E. Detro, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

Born March 21, 1937 in Putnam County, he was the son of Forest and Stella Opal (Abbott) Detro.

Dale was a 1955 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

Dale was the night computer operator with Peerless Pump from 1972 to 1985, the assistant director of the computer center at DePauw University from 1958-1971, and had worked with computers with Bob Jones University.

He helped establish and operate the Track Ministry throughout Putnam County and missionaries worldwide.

Dale is survived by his children, Alice (Scott) Carbaugh, Darlena (Jeff) McCarter and Dale Gene (Lori) Detro; a brother, Dan (Jessie) Detro; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Detro; son Nathaniel Detro; his parents; and brother Don Detro.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
