City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches and one medical run.

• At 11:34 a.m. on Friday, GFD performed an odor investigation at the intersection of Indiana and Washington streets. GFD found nothing after monitoring the area and returned to station at 11:53 a.m.

• At 9:18 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 311 S. Locust St. It was determined the alarm had been activated unnecessarily due to a pull station. GFD subsequently returned to station at 9:24 p.m.

• At 11:36 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 405 S. Jackson St. It was determined the alarm had been activated unnecessarily due to a pull station. GFD subsequently returned to station at 11:42 p.m.

• At 11:34 a.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to reports of a motor-vehicle accident just south of the intersection of County Road 200 North and U.S. 231. The single-car accident resulted in only minor injuries. GFD saw to the cleanup of debris from the roadway before returning to station at 11:55 a.m.
