Robert Edward Taylor, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016.

Born Dec. 23, 1936 in Greencastle, he was the son of Roy Jennings and Zelda B. (Diel) Taylor.

Bob was a 1954 graduate of Reelsville High School.

Bob worked at Handy's Dairy from 1971 until his retirement in 2004 as a sales manager.

He had previously been a route salesman with Pepsi Cola from 1961 to 1971.

He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Reelsville Alumni Association, where he had served as a president. Bob was an avid bowler, winning several awards at the local and state level, and inducted into the National Bowlers Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Staub) Taylor, whom he married July 6, 1957; children, Amy and Charles Carlton, Rita and Kevin Hochstedler, Daryl and Lisa Taylor, Lora and Patrick Hott, and David and Jenney Taylor; a brother, James and Eleanor Taylor; sister-in-law, Esther Taylor; grandchildren, Taylor Carlton, Kimberly Hochstedler, Ashton and Jerett Query, Callan Taylor, Emma Taylor, Dannielle Hott, Conner Taylor, Cory Taylor and Carson Taylor; great-granddaughters, Reese and Anniston Query; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Willie Gene and Benjamin Lee Taylor; a great-niece, Clorissa Taylor, and a great-nephew, Adam Taylor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, Dec. 22 at the church.
