GIRLS

Friday

Northview (9-2, 2-0) at N. Putnam (0-10, 0-2)

Game time: 6 p.m tipoff.

Media coverage: The game will be broadcast on WREB-FM 94.3.

So far: The Knights have only lost to Class 4A Terre Haute South (57-34) and Mooresville (60-38).

They have won three straight games, including a 68-60 win over Class 4A Terre Haute North on Tuesday.

History: The teams have not played recently.

Scouting report: Senior Stacy Payton has scored more than 1,000 points for Northview in her career, and averages 25.5 points per game.

Sullivan (3-8, 1-1) at Greencastle (6-6, 2-0)

Game time: 6 p.m. tipoff.

So far: Greencastle lost its first four games, won its next four, and has gone 2-2 over its last four outings. Sullivan has won two straight games since a 1-8 start, defeating North Putnam 46-12 and Shakamak 56-37.

History: Greencastle won 56-22 in Sullivan last year.

South Putnam (7-3, 1-1) at West Vigo (2-8, 0-2)

Game time: 6 p.m. tipoff.

So far: The Eagles have lost twice on their homecourt to Greencastle and lost at undefeated Owen Valley on Monday. West Vigo has defeated Shakamak and North Central. The Vikings were 2-2, and have lost their last six games.

History: West Vigo won 47-33 last year on its homecourt and has won the last three meetings between the schools.

Cloverdale (7-4, 0-2) at Brown Co. (7-4, 0-2)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: The Clovers have lost two of their last three games, both in the Western Indiana Conference, after starting the season at 6-2. The Clovers have also lost to Riverton Parke and South Putnam.

Brown County started the season 2-1 and since then has gone 1-6. The Eagles defeated Bloomfield and North Daviess in November, and won their most recent game 63-60 over Eastern Greene on Dec. 6.

History: Brown County won 53-49 at Cloverdale last year in the only recent game between the teams.

Saturday

Cascade at South Putnam

Game time: 1:30 p.m. varsity tipoff.

So far: The Cadets are 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the WIC going into tonight’s first-place East Division showdown at Owen Valley. Their only losses came to Class 4A Martinsville and Class 3A Indianapolis Ritter.

History: The Cadets won 50-39 last year in the regular season and 62-54 in the sectional, and have won the last nine meetings between the schools.

BOYS

Friday

Northview (3-1, 2-0) at N. Putnam (1-4, 0-2)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

Media coverage: The game will be broadcast on WREB-FM 94.3.

So far: The Knights are ranked No. 14 in Class 3A, and their only loss came 59-58 at No. 3 Tri-West on Saturday. North Putnam’s only win came 78-62 over Eminence on Dec. 6.

History: The teams have not played recently.

Sullivan (1-3, 1-1) at Greencastle (0-4, 0-2)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: Greencastle is averaging 37.0 points per game, but had a season-high total of 44 against South Putnam on Friday. The Tiger Cubs allow 56.8 points per game. Sullivan picked up its first win of the season on Friday, winning 50-44 after starting the season with three straight losses.

History: Sullivan won 63-53 at home over the Tiger Cubs.

South Putnam (3-4, 2-0) at West Vigo (3-1, 1-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: South Putnam started the season 2-1 but has lost three of its last four outings. The Eagles have defeated Turkey Run, North Putnam and Greencastle. West Vigo is 3-1, winning its first three games before falling 73-52 at Northview on Friday.

History: :West Vigo won 77-48 last year and has won the last two meetings between the teams.

Cloverdale (3-4, 0-2) at Brown Co. (1-5, 0-2)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

So far: Cloverdale won its opener, and then lost four of its next five games before defeating South Putnam 66-47 on Tuesday. Brown County’s only win came at home over Eastern Greene on Dec. 2, a 49-43 victory. The Eagles average 44.7 points per game, and allow 51.0 per game. They have lost to Bedford North Lawrence, Covington, Delphi, Cascade and Owen Valley.

Cloverdale won 68-48 last year in the only recent meeting between the teams.

Scouting report: Cloverdale has two of the state’s top seven scorers (Cooper Neese, first with 33.1; Jalen Moore, seventh with 24.9).

Saturday

Cloverdale at Greencastle

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff.

So far: The Clovers are 3-4 going into tonight’s game at Brown County, while Greencastle is 0-4 heading into tonight’s home game with Sullivan.

History: The teams split a pair of meetings last year.

Greencastle won 75-67 at Cloverdale, and the Clovers won 75-71 in overtime at Greencastle in the semifinals of the Putnam County tournament. Cloverdalw won the county title.
