CRAWFORDSVILLE -- While a 39-year-old Roachdale woman remains in intensive care at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a recent accident, an account intended to aid family members has been established in her name.

Created at Tri-County Bank and Trust, located at 101 E. South Blvd., Crawfordsville, the Cami Miles Account can be contributed to by either visiting any Tri-County Bank and Trust site or by mailing a check to the Crawfordsville branch -- 101 E. South Blvd., Crawfordsville (47933) -- while noting “For the benefit of Cami Miles Account.”

Miles and her husband Rick are parents of six children, one of whom, Jakob Spangler, 18, also of Roachdale, was traveling westbound with Miles on Friday, Dec. 23 along County Road 300 South in Montgomery County. The accident occurred when while attempting to cross U.S. 231, Miles’ 2011 Ford Explorer collided with a semi driven by James D. Runyon, 73, of Linden.

Both Runyon and Miles were airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital from the scene of the accident, which saw both vehicles catch fire.

Spangler was initially taken by ambulance to St. Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville and later reportedly taken to St. Vincent Hospital for surgery on a shattered arm.

However, Runyon, who was headed southbound at the time of the collision at the south edge of Crawfordsville, has since died from his injuries, authorities reported. He died Monday night at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis.
