Girl Scout Cookie sales to begin Saturday

Thursday, January 5, 2017

Girl Scout Cookie sales begin on Saturday, Jan. 7, and cookies will be delivered to troop leaders on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Girl Scouts will be taking orders, and once the cookies arrive will have booths at several locations.

Eight varieties are available this year, including two new cookies that sell for $5 a box: Girl Scout S'mores and Toffee-tastic.

Girl Scout S'mores are crunchy graham sandwich cookies with creamy chocolate and marshmallowy filling. The time-honored campfire treat is made with natural flavors and specialty ingredients.

Gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookies are rich, buttery cookies with sweet, crunchy golden toffee bits. A gluten-free variety offered only in select Girl Scout council markets for as long as supplies last.

Other cookies available at $4 a box are:

Thin Mints -- Crisp wafers covered in chocolaty coating. Made with natural oil of peppermint.

Samoas -- Crisp cookies, coated in caramel, sprinkled with coconut, and striped with a dark chocolaty coating.

Tagalongs -- Crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating.

Trefoils -- Delicate-tasting shortbread that is delightfully simple and satisfying.

Do-si-dos -- Crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookie with creamy peanut butter filling.

Savannah Smiles -- Crisp, zesty lemon wedge cookies dusted with powdered sugar.
