2016 Kids Christmas Party a success

Thursday, January 5, 2017

To the Editor:

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Greencastle Sons of the American Legion Squadron 58, along with the Women’s Auxiliary, held our annual breakfast and Christmas party with Santa.

We had 36 children registered with nearly 80 adults. Our Legion hall was packed.

After a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, potato cakes, orange juice and chocolate milk, games were played until Santa’s arrival.

As each child’s name was read, they came up and sat on Santa’s lap, received an age-appropriate gift and a stocking full of candy.

Everyone had a great time, and we received many thanks on our Christmas party.

We would like to thank our “Man in Red,” Russ Wilson and our elf, Linda Tyler; Richard Coffin, Teddi Beard and Tosha App for cooking breakfast and a big thank you to our servers and Santa’s helpers, Joan Clifford, Jane Rector, Brenda O’Brien and Julie Wood.

This Christmas party would not have been possible without the help of everyone. Thanks for a job well done.
