Emergency Food Pantry thankful for support

Thursday, January 5, 2017

To the Editor:

The Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry, Board of Directors and other volunteers thank the Putnam County community, churches, organizations, businesses and schools for their continued support to the Emergency Food Pantry here in our county.

As of today, the food pantry has served 2,862 households. Three meals for three days is given for each person in a household, and we serve households consisting of one to 12 people. The numbers for meals are about 85,000 this year.

Donations are our only source of income. Having read the previous numbers, it is understandable the gratitude we feel to every source of donations. Serving these numbers requires a lot of food and money.

The pantry is located at 309 E. Franklin St. in Greencastle and can be reached by phone at 765-301-4431. Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The mailing address is P. O. Box 423, Greencastle, Ind. 46135.

Respectfully,

Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry
