County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 11:37 p.m. Charles Raymond Steenbergen, 38, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

• At 9:56 a.m. Alex Mitchell Hardcastle, 28, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear.

• At 9:03 a.m. Dallas Zachary Scales, 35, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on a warrant for theft.

City Police

One alcohol-related arrest was reported early Friday by Greencastle City Police.

• At 1:45 a.m. Reid Weber, 20, Fort Wayne, was stopped on South Locust Street by Capt. Charles Inman for being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

Weber will be summoned into court to answer the charges, police officials said.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

• At 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Recco L. Rooker, 54, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 200 North when he hit a cow that was in his lane.

Deputy Jacob Harrington reported that the cow could not be located and that the animal’s owner was unknown.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to one dispatch and one lift assist.

• At 8:59 a.m. on Thursday, GFD assisted the Cloverdale Police Department with a mutual-aid structure fire at 301 Hurst Ave. in Cloverdale. GFD covered the CFD station beginning at 9:15 a.m. and assisted with the extinguishment of the nearby structure fire. GFD returned to station at 9:39 a.m.
