Purdue Club sets women’s basketball trip

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The public is invited to attend the Purdue women’s basketball game against Ohio State and receive a tour of the newly-remodeled Cordova Co-Rec Gym in West Lafayette on Sunday, Jan. 15.

The event is sponsored by the Purdue Club of Putnam County.

Game time is 3:30 p.m. and ticket reservations for the lower arena can be purchased at the cost of $10 for adults and $5 for students by contacting Sandy Williams at 653-3523 or jspurdue@cinergymetro.net.

The group attending will be recognized on the scoreboard and will have the opportunity to meet Purdue Pete. The club’s scholarship fund will benefit from 50 percent of the adult ticket price.

Prior to the game, a tour of the recently remodeled Cordova Co-Rec Gym will begin at 1:30 p.m. This is now a state-of-the-art facility for students and faculty to participate in recreational activities that include team sports, rock climbing, running and weight lifting.

Family-style pizza, Bruno’s dough and a soda will be made available at Bruno’s Pizza for $10 per person plus tip following the game.

Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation. Directions to each of the facilities will be provided.

The Purdue Club of Putnam County has an endowment with the Putnam County Community Foundation. This school year, the club has awarded four $750 scholarships to Putnam County students.
