Council won’t get between residents

FILLMORE -- Clerk-Treasurer Tom Gilson reported during Thursday’s meeting of the Fillmore Town Council that he had received a complaint from a resident.

The resident had complained that a neighbor had parked an unplated vehicle in his (the neighbor’s) front yard, which was full of trash. Gilson said that, as legally required, he had informed Marshal Bunten, who had spoken with the neighbor.

The neighbor later called Clerk-Treasurer Gilson to complain that his neighbor (the resident) had bird houses, which was encouraging the birds to leave droppings on his property.

Neither party was present to contest the matter, and the council took no action.

“I don’t think the council wants to write an ordinance about bird houses,” Clerk-Treasurer Gilson laughed.
