Durbin L. Yeager

Durbin L. Yeager entered the Gates of Heaven surrounded by his family, very peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017.

He was born to Royce and Margaret (Masten) Yeager March 2, 1938 in Putnam County.

He is survived by his wife, Willa Dean (Parker) Yeager of 58 years. He was the father of Christopher F. Yeager (deceased) and Alan M. Yeager (Abby) and grandsons Logan C. and Adam D. Yeager.

Durbin is also survived by a brother, Willis G. Yeager (Bette) of Pittsboro; sisters Sharon Benge (Bob), Marcia Walker and Margo Overton (Lennie) of Brownsburg; brother-in-law Willis G. Parker (Linda) of Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.

Durbin was a member of the Coatesville Christian Church and attended New Maysville Community Church until his death.

Durbin graduated from Amo High School in 1956 and was president of his class.

He attended Culver Military Summer School where he was the president of the Band Company in 1956.

Durbin served two years in the U.S. Army. After discharge he joined his father in the oil business.

After his father's death, Durbin owned and operated Yeager Petroleum Co. for many years. He later sold the business and went to work with the Taylor Oil Co., Zionsville.

Durbin was a Boy Scout scoutmaster and was actively involved for many years with Troop 313 of Amo, sponsored by the First Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 with visitation one hour before and on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 3-8 p.m. with Rev. Larry Edwards officiating.
