Troth’s driveway winds and has a slight incline. She told Deputy Matt Biggs she was trying to negotiate a corner and as she accelerated she lost steering on the snow-covered driveway.

The vehicle hit a tree on the west side of the driveway, causing the airbags to deploy.

Troth complained of chest pain and Operation Life transported her to Putnam County Hospital.

• At 5:06 a.m. on Sunday, Samantha L. Dickerson, 24, Terre Haute, was eastbound on U.S. 40 near County Road 625 East in a 1996 Mercury Sable when she hit a deer.

The 2008 Suzuki XL-7 Grand Vitara had apparently been westbound about 1,000 feet west of County Road 750 East when it lost control and ran off the roadway, hitting a telephone and internet box and a utility pole, destroying both on impact.

The vehicle was most recently registered to Brandy A. Kline of Danville, with that registration expiring in 2016. However, when contacted by Freeman, Kline said she had traded the vehicle to a Noblesville dealership in March 2016.

No license plate or registration was located inside the vehicle.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000. The vehicle was towed.

Tatum told Deputy Freeman she was stopped at the end of the driveway when Butler hit the brakes and began sliding toward her, hitting her vehicle.

However, Butler said Tatum failed to yield and she could not avoid the collision because Tatum was in her lane.

Tatum’s vehicle ended up in the ditch south of the driveway facing south. Butler’s SUV came to rest north of the driveway.

Tatum was cited for driving without financial responsibility.

Butler’s vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

Braeger told Capt. Tom Helmer he stopped due to a trash truck that was backing into the driveway at 7444 E. U.S. 36 when his vehicle was rear-ended by Lucas.

Lucas said he didn’t see Braeger’s vehicle stop and struck it in the rear.

Helmer also reported there was an argument between Braeger and the trash truck driver because Braeger blocked the driveway, preventing the trash truck from leaving until police arrived. The trash truck driver did not see the crash.

Lucas was cited for driving with expired plates.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. Lucas’ vehicle was towed.

A witness told Rozelle that as the truck slid sideways, it hit dry pavement and rolled approximately five times down an embankment. The truck came to rest on its side.

Hill was wearing a seatbelt and escaped without serious injury.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 7:17 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, Sarah L. Dobson, 23, Greencastle, left the gas station at U.S. 231 and U.S. 40 headed east in a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze.
