Taylor named player of week after averaging 20.3 per game

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced on Tuesday that sophomore Callan Taylor of Greencastle has been named the USCAA DI Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Taylor averaged 20.3 points through four games to earn her first USCAA Player of the Week honor.

The sophomore guard scored a career-high 29 points on the road at Robert Morris-Peoria and averaged 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during the four-game stretch.

Taylor is averaging 15 points per game and has scored 20 or more points in four games this season.

She also averages 3.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.

Taylor will help lead the Pomeroys into an important stretch of games this week, as SMWC heads to USCAA opponents Cincinnati Clermont and Berea on Thursday and Friday.
