Breast Cancer basketball games set Friday

Greencastle will host a special Breast Cancer Awareness night on Friday during the doubleheader basketball games at McAnally Center against North Putnam.

The girls’ game will start at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ game.

A bake sale will be conducted during the games, with all the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer research.

Individuals may donate money during halftime of the boys’ contest in order to also contribute to Breast Cancer research.

Laps for Life set Saturday — Greencastle High School swimming and diving is hosting its fourth annual Laps for Life on Saturday. This fundraiser raises money for the high school swim program and the American Cancer Society.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the high school pool.

Cheer clinic set Jan. 28 — The Greencastle Cheerleaders will be hosting a cheer clinic on Jan. 28 for any girls ages 4-12.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m.-noon in the GHS multi-purpose gym located in the high school (entrance is the second set of doors from main entrance).

The girls will be invited to perform at the home basketball game against Tri West that night.

Participants will receive instruction on cheer techniques, chants, and jumps.

Each girl will also receive a T-shirt to wear to the game that evening. The cost is $30 per child (for more than one child per family, there will be a $5 discount per participant).

The registration deadline is Tuesday.

Please send registration and money (checks payable to GCSC Cheer) to your child’s school office by Jan. 17.
