County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 9:47 p.m. Keith Maynard Slusser, 54, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 4:12 p.m. Austin Ryan Plessinger, 27, Bainbridge, was booked in on a writ for contempt of court.

• At 10:01 a.m. Jeremy David Benassi, 27, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a writ for failure to appear.

Tuesday

• At 4:15 p.m. Angel Calderon, 22, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on a Morgan County warrant.

• At 11:36 a.m. Andre Dwayne Giden, 39, Greencastle, was arrested for violation of home detention.

• At 8:57 a.m. Rusty Steven Heck, 31, Greencastle, was booked in on a court order.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Stephen Seketa was arrested at a County Road 50 West residence on outstanding warrants.

Taken into custody by Officer Matt Huffman and lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Seketa is being held on a Putnam County warrant for failure to appear and a Hendricks County warrant for auto theft, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

• At 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, Angela Marie Romandine, 38, Greencastle, was arrested at an Ottawa Park residence by Officer Zach Rhine.

Romandine was booked into the jail on charges of battery and criminal mischief.

One recent summons was issued by GPD officers.

• At 10:08 p.m. Jan. 5, Devin Stallcup, 22, Indianapolis, was stopped on Bloomington Street by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stallcup will be summoned into court on a driving with a suspended license with prior offense count.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to four recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Gary L. Brock, 46, Russellville, was westbound on State Road 236, approaching County Road 500 West in a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox when he hit a deer.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 11 p.m. on Monday, Aaron S. Hunter, 25, Greencastle, was westbound on State Road 240 in a 2015 Chevrolet Cruz when he hit a deer.

Deputy Anthony Brown estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000. The vehicle was towed.

• At 5:18 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, Anthony D. Reeves, 25, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 75 West in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when a deer ran into the side of his vehicle.

Deputy Mike Downing estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

• At 3:49 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, Matthew W. Holloway, 50, Indianapolis, was eastbound on U.S. 36 near County Road 600 East in a 2006 Mercury Montego when he hit a deer.

Deputy Downing estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches.

• At 5:28 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to reports of smoke at 913 N. Madison St. The reports were determined to be a false alarm as the residents were using their oven to heat the residence.

• At 4:56 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 330 Greenwood Ave.
